Ministerial Committees
What are Ministerial Committees?
The Government authorizes the Ministerial Committees to deal with and resolve certain matters, thereby making the Government’s operation more efficient. Resolutions by the Ministerial Committees may become valid Government Resolutions if, two weeks after being submitted to the ministers, no minister has appealed.
The Government may decide to establish a Committee in any field it deems necessary. However, there are a number of Committees which are mandatory by law.
Each Committee has several ministers, one of whom is defined as Chairman of the Committee. His authority during the meetings is similar to that of the Prime Minister during Government meetings, and it is he that determines the dates when the committee will meet and the issues on its agenda.
