יום שישי י"א סיון תשע"ב
Location:Kissufim - Southern Gaza Strip
Staff Sgt. Netanel Moshiashvili, 21, of Ashkelon, was killed early in the morning when a terrorist identified infiltrating Israel from the southern Gaza Strip opened fire at IDF soldiers.

At around 4 am, the gunman, using the heavy fog covering the area for cover, was able to reach the security fence, cut it and infiltrate into Israel. A nearby reconnaissance unit detected the terrorist and a unit from the Golani Brigade's 12th Battalion was immediately sent to the scene. During the exchange of fire, the terrorist, later identified as Ahmed abu Nasser, from the nearby village of Abassan, was killed, thus probably preventing a terror attack on Israeli civilians. Moshiashvili, one of the force's medics, was mortally wounded and succumbed to his wounds, despite the efforts by IDF medics.

Netanel was to have completed his army service next March. Until the age of 16 he attended yeshiva, and then completed his high school studies in Ashkelon. Originally scheduled to be drafted into the Givati Brigade, Netanel wanted to serve as a Golani medic like his father and his request was accepted. The second of six siblings, he celebrated the Shavuot holiday with his family just days before he was killed.

Staff-Sergeant Netanel Moshiashvili was buried in the Ashkelon military cemetery.
