Prime Minister Ariel Sharon met today, with a delegation from the Hadassah - The Women’s Zionist Organization of America led by Hadassah National President June Walker.
Prime Minister Sharon praised the organization’s women for their work on behalf of Israeli society and congratulated them on being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Prime Minister Sharon briefed his guests on the Palestinian situation and emphasized that, “Israel is prepared to go towards peace but will not compromise on the security of the citizens of the state of Israel.”
Prime Minister Sharon said that Jewish Zionist education is, first and foremost, important for the history of the Jewish People and its heritage and stressed that the Palestinian Authority must design education for peace and coexistence instead of hatred.
Hadassah National President Walker emphasized that world Jewish communities in general and Hadassah in particular support the State of Israel and feel responsible towards it. She thanked the Prime Minister for his efforts toward peace
