Acting Prime Minister, and Industry, Trade and Employment Minister, Ehud Olmert met this morning (Sunday), 19.2.06, with US fashion designer Donna Karan, who expressed an interest in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and in helping Israel's information efforts in the US; she also said that she was favorably impressed by Israel.

Acting Prime Minister Olmert suggested that Donna Karan begin production in Israel and briefed her on both the benefits that exist for foreign nationals who invest and manufacture in Israel and on Israel's trade agreements with the US and Europe.  Donna Karan expressed great interest in the possibilities of manufacturing in, and exporting from, Israel.  The Industry, Trade and Employment Ministry will present her with various possibilities.
