Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in cooperation with the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) dedicated the Ozer Berkowitz Archaeological Park in Tiberias. Tourism Minister Ruhama Avraham-Balila, Tiberias Mayor Zohar Oved, Prime Minister's Office Director-General Ra'anan Dinur, Israel Antiquities Authority Director Shuka Dorfman, members of the Berkowitz family, et. al., also attended the ceremony. The Prime Minister's Office, led by PMO Northern District Director David Ben-Yemini, along with the IAA and the Tiberias Municipality, has worked to develop the park, which includes walking paths, gardens and archaeological finds. Prime Minister Olmert said: "This park is a fitting place to perpetuate the memory of Ozer Berkowitz and it is also proper that a city like Tiberias, with such a rich history and so many archaeological finds, will have a park like this. I am pleased that my Government is continuing to invest in the north of the country, in all areas, from construction to culture."
