| (06/08/2002) |
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon supports the approach taken by Interior
Minister Eli Yishai to revoke the citizenship and permanent residency,
in severe cases, of citizens and residents who are connected to terror
organizations and terrorist activites.
Interior Minister Yishai's decision is a correct, considered and
balanced decision, and is in accordance with his legal authority. All
the processes required by law must - of course - be followed in these
cases, and in similar future cases. Israel, which finds itself in a
difficult campaign against rampaging murderous terror, must take the
steps of a democracy to defend itself.
