Prime Minister Ariel Sharon spoke today (Mon) 16.12.2002, with Russian
President Vladimir Putin. The conversation lasted approximately half an
hour and was conducted in a friendly atmosphere.
Prime Minister Sharon and President Putin discussed recent developments
in the area. Prime Minister Sharon discussed the increase in the number
warnings for terror attacks in Israel and discussed possible ways to
proceed with a diplomatic process. Prime Minister Sharon stated
Israel's position on the manner of which such a path would take, the
moment there is a complete cessation of terror attacks.
Prime Minister Sharon wished President Putin and the Russian people a
happy new year and President Putin sent his good wishes to Israel.
