Following is a statement made by the Director-General of the Hadassah Ein-Karem hospital, Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef:

“We promised to update you on the Prime Minister’s condition after the Shabbat.  The Prime Minister is currently at the neuro-surgical intensive care unit.
During the Shabbat he underwent a scheduled CT scan, as part of the treatment program for patients in the same condition as the Prime Minister.  Today’s CT scan showed a slight diminution in the brain edema, which means a slight improvement in the CT scan picture.  The Prime Minister’s condition is still serious.
As for the remaining tests we monitor, as you all know from the past few days – the intra-cranial pressure is within the norm, the blood pressure, pulse and urine output are within the norm.
All these measurements indicate stability in the Prime Minister’s condition.  All the Hadassah specialists from the various fields of neurology, neuro-surgery, imaging and intensive care, plan to convene tomorrow morning, as we do every morning, including during the weekend, to discuss the Prime Minister’s treatment program for the next 24 hours.
As you know, part of the treatment plan for the Prime Minister is deep general sedation.  This is still maintained and is still part of the treatment.
A decision on when to begin rousing the Prime Minister from his coma and inspecting the various functions of the brain will be made tomorrow, at the morning meeting of the Hadassah specialists.
The entire hospital team is fighting, together with the Prime Minister and the Sharon family, to save the Prime Minister’s life.
I must note with satisfaction the support of the responsible medical community in the State of Israel.  I received calls from the directors of Tel Hashomer, Ichilov, Soroka, Barzilai in Ashkelon, Poriya, Bikur-Holim, She’arei Tzedek.  I received a call from the Chairman of the Medical Association.  They all encourage us, they all tell us to focus on one thing – saving the life of the Prime Minister, and that is the major task which we in Hadassah are invested in from the moment of the Prime Minister’s admission and in these very moments as well.
I conclude – the Prime Minister’s condition is still serious, stable, with very slight improvement in the X-ray picture of the CT scan conducted today”.
