The Advisory Committee on Senior Appointments chaired by retired Judge Ya'acov Terkel (and including Civil Service Commissioner Shmuel Hollander and retired Maj.-Gen. Haim Erez) met today and continued its discussions of the appointments of Yaacov Ganot and Benny Kaniak as Israel Police Commissioner and Israel Prison Service Commissioner, respectively.
 
Yaacov Ganot, Benny Kaniak and outgoing Israel Police Commissioner Moshe Karadi appeared before the Committee. They answered questions and discussed their positions and views regarding the qualifications necessary for the posts of Israel Police Commissioner and Israel Prison Service Commissioner.
 
The Committee will continue its deliberations and its examination of the written and oral material that it has received.  The Committee will endeavor to formulate its recommendations within the next two weeks.
