Prime Minister Ehud Olmert today appointed the Deputy Chief of his staff, Oved Yehezkel, as Cabinet Secretary and wished him success. The Prime Minister again thanked outgoing Cabinet Secretary Yisrael Maimon. Oved Yehezkel was born on 28.3.65. He is married and is the father of four children. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Middle East Studies from Hebrew University in Jerusalem; he also attended the School for Quality Leadership. He speaks Hebrew, English and Arabic. He is a reserve Colonel in the IDF Intelligence Corps. His professional experience is as follows: 1989-1993 – Adviser to the Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem. 1992-1993 – Teaching assistant at Hebrew University Dept. of International Relations. 1993-2003 – Adviser to the Mayor of Jerusalem. 2003-2006 – Senior Adviser to Ehud Olmert in his capacities as Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Communications and Minister of Industry, Trade and Employment. 1999-2005 – High school history teacher. 2006 – Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s Deputy Chief of Staff.
