In addition to its discussion of the continuation of security force operations in Gaza, the Security Cabinet this morning, discussed the protection of Israeli passenger jets.  The Cabinet approved a detailed action plan, which was outlined by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, to develop, and equip passenger jets with, defensive systems that will be installed on the planes of Israeli aviation companies.  The systems have been developed in their entirety by Israeli security industries.

Today's decision is part of the continuing effort to provide a response to existing terrorist threats against the State of Israel around the world.  The Transportation Ministry will be responsible for the project, in cooperation with the security establishment and the security industries.
