|
| 30/05/2001 |
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon met today (Wednesday), 30.5.2001, with North
Rhine-Westphalia Prime Minister Wolfgang Clement and Baden-Wurttemberg
Prime Minister Erwin Teufel.
Prime Minister Sharon briefed his guests on the situation and said that
Israel is currently facing a difficult battle with Palestinian terrorism
in which the leaders of the Palestinian Authority continue to incite
against Israel. Since Israel declared a cease-fire, there have been
over 130 terrorist incidents.
Prime Minister Sharon said that his supreme duty is to protect Israeli
citizens and that there will not even be the smallest compromise on this
issue.
Prime Minister Sharon thanked his guests for their warm relations with
Israel and spoke of the need to further develop and strengthen
Israeli-German relations. The Prime Minister called on his guests to
consider the many possibilities for investment and joint projects that
Israel has put forward. |
