Prime Minister spoke today , with US Secretary of State Colin Powell. |
|
| 19/12/2001 |
Prime Minister Sharon briefed
Secretary Powell on the situation in the field, noting that there have
been 31 terror attacks in the past 48 hours in which four Israeli
civilians were wounded including one seriously and one child.
Prime Minister Sharon said that the mortar firings, planting of bombs
and shooting attacks on the roads continue. Arafat continues to give
the green light to terrorism, is not arresting terrorists and has taken
no preventative actions to foil terrorist attacks.
Prime Minister Sharon praised US Envoy General Anthony Zinni, and his
efforts to achieve a cease-fire. He stated that Israel will continue to
be committed to peace.
