Prime Minister Ariel Sharon this morning (Monday), 17.3.2003, made the following remarks in the course of an internal discussion that was held at his Jerusalem office:
Given the current economic and security reality, it is necessary to take drastic measures in order to maintain economic stability and rekindle growth. The plan which has been presented to me by Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and people from his ministry answers these needs and I expect ministers and MKs to show the necessary national responsibility and approve it forthwith in order to expedite its implementation.
Prime Minister Sharon praised Finance Minister Netanyahu and his ministry team for investing considerable effort in formulating the plan so quickly and added that full backing will be given to its quick passage and implementation. The Cabinet will discuss the plan at its meeting on Sunday, 23.3.2003.
