Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, today, attended the dedication ceremony for the new visitors center at Ramat Hanadiv (http://www.ramat-hanadiv.org.il/index_en.aspx), the resting place of Baron Edmond James de Rothschild (http://tinyurl.com/2zl4gq), in Zichron Yaacov. He said: “As someone who grew up in nearby Binyamina, I remember this garden. In my view, this was, and remains, the finest park in the world. I do not know of any other park that has been so successfully and carefully maintained over the years.” Prime Minister Olmert addressed the descendants of Baron de Rothschild who were present and said that, “The State of Israel appreciates, honors and esteems your special family’s unparalleled contribution to the Jewish People. You are part of the history of this land and this people.” When Prime Minister Olmert signed Ramat Hanadiv’s guestbook, he discovered that his late father Mordechai had signed it in 1959, when he visited the site as a Member of the Fourth Knesset (http://tinyurl.com/2a3rol).
