Yitshak Pary
Yitshak Pary  was born in Hungary in 1929.

In 1944, while he was a high school student, the Germans invaded Hungary and concentrated the Jews in a Ghetto.  In April he was sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau with his entire family.  In January 1945, the Jews were led on the Death March.  In the following months he was forced on other ‘death’ marches and in May 1945 he was liberated by forces of the American Army.

In 1948, he immigrated to Israel and moved to Kibbutz Maoz Haim.  He enlisted in the IDF and served in the 890th Brigade as a fighter and paratroop instructor.  Yitshak retired after 32 years of service.  During his military service, he met Ruth, whom he married, and today they have three children and seven grandchildren.  His grandson, Sergeant Shahar Pary is accompanying him on this journey.
