A truck driver, who was a 22 year-old resident of Kafr Kassem, crashed into a bus, several cars and dozens of pedestrians – starting at the Mesubim Interchange and continuing on until the junction of Bar Lev Boulevard and Hatayasim Street in Tel Aviv.
As a result of this attack, Aviv Morag was killed.
The driver was arrested and brought in for questioning at the Yiftach District police station, where he claimed that what had occurred was an accident and that he did not intend to hurt anyone. On the other hand, Shai Algali, one of the drivers who overcame the truck driver, said that the driver yelled “Allahu Akbar” and “Death to Jews”, went wild and threw broken pieces of a traffic light at passers-by. “When we overcame him, he had a look of murder in his eyes and after we had him restrained, he started saying that it was a mistake.” Algali said.
