Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Public Security Minister Avi Dichter and Social Welfare and Social Services Minister Yitzhak Herzog, this evening, at Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, visited 72-year-old taxi driver Yaacov Mizrahi, who was brutally assaulted and robbed last Monday night (http://tinyurl.com/326zwu & http://tinyurl.com/348vol). Prime Minister Olmert told Mizrahi and members of his family that it was important that they, “and the entire public know that we – as a society – will not tolerate such acts. We will make every effort to stop this violence, hooliganism and crime. Public Security Minister Dichter and the Israel Police are working very hard. This week, we decided to add another 1,000 police officers (http://tinyurl.com/2sbkcz). We are doing this in order to protect law-abiding citizens in their homes, vehicles and places of work.”
