Prime Minister Ehud Olmert today decided to appoint Yarden Vatikay to manage the Prime Minister’s Office Information Directorate.  The appointment is with the approval of the Prime Minister’s Media Adviser, Ya’akov Galanti, who will head the Directorate.
 
Vatikay, 41, has served as Jewish Agency and World Zionist Organization Spokesman and Director of Information for the past five years.  His previous positions in the diplomatic-security field include Defense Minister’s Media Adviser and Assistant to the Prime Minister’s Media Adviser.
 
The Information Directorate has been established in accordance with the 8.7.07 Cabinet decision (http://tinyurl.com/35dgdp), which defined its responsibilities in coordinating information activities among the various ministries without infringing on their respective responsibilities.  It will also prepare work scenarios for various situations in which inter-ministerial information activity is required.
 
Mr. Vatikay’s appointment will take effect upon completion of the relevant procedural matters.
