Prime Minister Ehud Olmert today met with 25 new ambassadors, who will leave soon in order to represent the State of Israel at various embassies around the world. He briefed the ambassadors on the diplomatic tracks with the Palestinians and the Syrians and emphasized that Israel need not be apprehensive about conducting negotiations on both tracks simultaneously. He also discussed the Iranian threat and stressed that Iran is a problem for the entire world. Prime Minister Olmert congratulated the ambassadors and said that the fact that they will be representing Israel in such varied countries underscores the strength of Israel’s wide-ranging network of diplomatic links at the current time.
