National Security Council Counter-Terrorism Bureau Rescinds Travel Warning to Bangkok

26/01/2012

Following is a statement from the National Security Council Counter-Terrorism Bureau:

"Activity by the Thai security forces, including the arrest of a Hezbollah agent and the discovery of a cache of war materiel, has led to the foiling of intentions to perpetrate attacks at the present time.  Therefore, the NSCCTB is rescinding the severe travel warning for Bangkok.  However, in light of the possibility that additional terrorist infrastructures may be operating in the region and given the sensitivity over the upcoming anniversary (February 12) of the death of Imad Mughniyeh, the NSCCTB calls on Israelis in Bangkok to remain alert."
