The Senior Deputy Director General for Administration coordinates matters related to administrative work, and is engaged in the organizational implementation of social, economic and political aspects that are acceptable to the Prime Minister. He is responsible for carrying out special tasks as directed by the Director General of the Prime Ministers Office.
The Deputy Director General heads the following committees: tenders, torts, awarding improved efficiency prizes, education, parking, selecting the outstanding employee, outstanding driver, and the office committee for research, polls and employing advisers.
Administration, budgets and office maintenance fall under the purview of the Deputy Director General.
We are undergoing organizational reform in administration in order to coordinate activities as directed by the Prime Minister, and new challenges facing the Government; e.g. providing an administrative response to the directorate of the peace talks in the framework of progress in the peace process, and to the bureaus of the Ministers without portfolio.
The role of the Deputy Director General in the Prime Ministers Office is divided into two main areas:
1.The gamut of administrative topics similar to other government offices (i.e. manpower, budget, maintenance, computers, finances and security).
2.Providing a response for official events in the office from internal and national aspects.
The agenda of administrative departments is influenced by the agenda of the Government and its committees, and by the Prime Ministers agenda. The administrative departments provide an administrative response to all activities as requested by various bodies.
